Servicing of fire extinguishers can be pricey and labour intensive unless you use a company that is fast, efficient and conscious of cost. 

Our visiting fee to any commercial premises nationwide is just £30.00, or for Domestic premises £25.00 - (there is an additional fee for London congestion charge area £20.00).

The inspection fee per fire extinguisher is £5.00 and there is no charge for parts.

We do charge extra for any refilling an extinguisher which must be refilled every 5 years, otherwise the contents become ineffective. The extinguisher needs to be discharged to make sure it is working to British Standards. The exception is a CO2 extinguisher which only needs refilling every 10 years. It needs to be sent away for a stretch test and refilled. We offer a service exchange unit that has already been stretch tested and refilled. They have to be sent away for this specialised job and no engineer can do this on site.

All new fire extinguishers have to be commissioned according to the British Standard requirement BS 5306-3.

All new fire extinguishers delivered attract a £5.00 commissioning fee and there will a be £5.00 disposal fee per extinguisher for old units where applicable.

During an inspection we

• check year of manufacture

• check for rust externally

• check for leaks by weighing each unit

• visually inspect the gauge

• if cartridge type open the head inspect for rust with a torch

• inspect lining for signs of splitting

• check contents and measure levels

• check siphon tube

• replace 'O' ring on the head

• check hose

• test gauge

• sign and date labels (can only be done by qualified technicians, who must pass an examination before being approved.)

This is only a general guide as each type of extinguisher needs different tests.

An average 23 jobs are completed at an inspection.
